3 Very Important Tips to Remember If You’re Serious About Losing Weight
There’s a lot of changes that come with losing a drastic amount of weight. The transformation you are going through is far more than physical and they affect every aspect of your life. From how you feel about yourself, to daily interactions, and to some hard realizations.
In today’s article, we will go through 3 key things you need to remember if you are really serious about your weight loss journey.
1. You’ve got all the control.
It is very easy to believe that weight loss is the result of a magic pill, diet, wrap, shake, leaving out food groups, or whatever else. Frequently, I hear people say “this diet didn’t work” or “that weight loss program didn’t work for me”.
Here is the thing though.. The truth is nothing will work unless you do. Period.
You are in control of making exercise & nutrition a priority- Nobody can do that for you.
Don’t wait for the perfect moment or strategy. Start now, using what you have and adjust accordingly.
2. You can’t out-train a bad diet
The mindset of “if I eat this then I have to train for this long” is no fun. It’s restrictive.
Let’s say you eat 3 meals + 2 snacks/drinks/ alcohol a day then that’s 35 times a week what you eat is deciding how your body looks and performs. Versus say exercise 3 times a week. Even exercising every single day does not stack up next to the number of times you eat in a day.
Look, food to support your Exercise. And, Exercise to support your Food. It’s a combination – Don’t think you can only focus on 1 part of the equation and get away with it.
Exercise to feel good and take care of your body – not so you can eat junk. Don’t think you can only focus on 1 part of the equation and get away with it.
3. Everyone has an opinion
Be careful.. You don’t want to get too skinny!”, “Keep going!”, “You look fine. I don’t think you have any more weight to lose!”, “You can eat this just this once!”, “I don’t remember you being that big.” “You look so much better now!”
Sounds familiar?
The best way to deal with it is to take these comments with a grain of salt, and just move on. Don’t be so easily thrown off your game. Perspective is a great teacher and an awesome way to calm down your emotions.
People will always have something to say, but there’s nothing you can do about it. So why spend time thinking about it?
