Why You Should Stop Dieting Before It’s Too Late

Why You Should Stop Dieting Before It's Too Late

Rather than crash diet to fit into that new swim suit, or at least maintain all your hard work and fitness efforts, It’s time to try something different.

Here is the thing..

In Simple Fitness, we don’t believe in quick fixes. We educate and provide tools. We teach our clients how to build a sustainable lifestyle they can enjoy while still achieving the results they are after.

Often weight loss is focused on diets and gimmicks. “Lose weight without getting off the couch!” “Eat this and do nothing but shed pounds.”

BULLSH*T.

Diets alone limit weight loss success. You may achieve a quick loss, yet you are not likely to sustain it. Weight loss resulting from extreme diets alone are usually temporary at best.

Eventually, no matter how well clothes hang on your new frame, you resort to more realistic eating habits. Training 7 days per week, eliminating entire food groups, and counting every grain of rice in your rice cake does not make for a happy, committed dieter.

Many diets limit entire food groups. They are not nutritionally wise and leave you hungry. This has obvious consequences. Fad diets tend to be low in carbs and calories.

Why the quick results? fluid loss.

This loss is reflected on the scale until the body rehydrates. Drink some water and you are back to your previous weight, or heavier from the weight of defeat.

We suggest a different approach to crash diets and excessive training.

Work on building a new, healthy lifestyle.

Weight loss and maintenance is possible through an overall healthier lifestyle approach, which includes fewer extremes and is more manageable. Focus on training consistently, gradually getting stronger, with small improvements to your routine..

You can still eat, and enjoy food, just be mindful about it. Beyond accomplishing a healthy weight, a healthy combo of diet and exercise brings the added benefits of a healthier body and mind, along with disease prevention.

Don’t wait for another yo-yo dieting season. Don’t fall into this hype again, take control, and treat your body the way it should.
